Reyga has been tasked with assisting a Federation anthropological team on a duckblind observation mission in the Stukrid system.
While observing the near-warp civilization, the researchers detected the presence of a previously undiscovered metallic compound being utilized in the Stukrids’ prototype engines that is not native to the planet. The only possible natural source of this compound within sublight range is a large comet in a high-eccentricity orbit, which may have passed closely enough for the Stukrids to have mined it at some point in the past.
Reyga’s mission is to intercept the comet in question and collect material samples for comparison.
