USS Aspasia and USS Scharnhorst have made a preliminary survey of the Attenborough system. The system holds an array of interesting colonisation and mining sites. While surveying a Class M planet, two crews came upon a technologically advanced structure. While studying it, they accidentally activated some kind of homing signal which led to emergence of Iconian-like structure in the orbit of one of the outer planets.
