NARRATIVE Utilizing codes, encryption, and sensor logs captured by previous missions here, and the destruction of the Romulan Star Empire listening post, starships USS Dragon, USS Albion, and USS Argama, along with the escorts USS Hibernia and USS Shenlong and the Dragon’s fighter squadron, were staged in the captured Sarita system with the mission to infiltrate the Fvillhaih system and capture the starbase by using IFF codes and faking warp signatures to appear to be a Romulan supply convoy on long-range sensors. Cetratus Squadron was also joining us for the initial assault under the same concealment, with their mission to eliminate all other enemy presence in the system.

The starting ruse proved effective with no early-warning from the listening post, and we were able to further disable 4 enemy D’deridex warbirds that were at the station, powered down for repairs in our initial strike.

The Romulans were not foolish enough to leave even a makeshift installation such as this one otherwise undefended, and we encountered two more D’deridex class, and 2 Mogai class defending.

USS Dragon was able to stay on the task of bringing down the shields of the starbase, and disabling its weapons with the support of all other ships involved. Fortunately, evidenced by the presence of many more weapons ports on the starbase with no weapons in them, it appears this base was not yet fully operational from a tactical standpoint. It is speculated that it was expecting some of those weapons to come in the convoy we impersonated. This allowed the Dragon to withstand its weapons fire.

USS Albion and USS Argama took the lead along with USS Hibernia and USS Shenlong, and the Dragon’s fighter squadron against the active defending warbirds, along with fire from Cetratus Squadron to keep them off of USS Dragon, and nearly finish them. By this time, USS Dragon was able to bring down the starbase shields with all of its phasers and phaser-lance, while its own shields were at 30% from the reduced capacity of the starbase weapons, and lack of other interference. USS Dragon would then start deploying its large payload of quantum torpedoes to finish off the gun emplacements and send some of its torpedoes to finish off the defending ships that had been severely damaged by the other aforementioned ships. (One Mogai Warbird was brought down before this by fire from Cetratus Squadron.)

At this time, other enemy ships that had been on patrol were detected, and Cetratus Squadron departed to carry out its mission and go after them.

USS Dragon, Albion, Argama, and support craft remained around the starbase to send in assault teams, and guard the starbase against recapture.

Teams reported a mixture of heavy resistance from hardened Romulan fighters, and other half-hearted defenses in different points inside the starbase. We believe that many of the less effective groups of defenders were mostly doing so under coercion from the Tal Shiar with threats against their families, and the stronger units were of a more patriotic mindset.

Theta team was able to complete their mission to disable the self-destruct mechanism in engineering as Alpha team was closing in on the command center. Alpha team, and the overall “ground” operation was led by Commander LaSalle, having Lt. Commander Shaw, and Lt. Wind-People in Alpha team with her.

As they were able to push through multiple defense teams, some offering more resistance than others as described above, and make it to the command center, there were only two Romulans inside. One, the base commander, and the other a furious Tal Shiar agent.

The base commander was apparently very pragmatic, and could see there were no cards left to play, and putting his hands up as the team entered. However the Tal Shiar agent present was, described by Commander LaSalle, “Apoplectic” at the situation, and making threats to the base commander even while cornered and facing three phaser rifles trained on them. Said agent tried to draw his pistol, and was brought down on heavy stun by Lt. Wind-People very quickly, before he could finish drawing that pistol.

At this point, the base commander was allowed to use the internal comms to all decks, and tell his people to surrender, and that their Political Officer was down, so their families would be safe. At this, all starbase crew (those not unconscious from being stunned) did surrender. Most were understandably upset at losing the battle, but relieved that their loved ones would not suffer for the failure, and thusly compliant.

The crews of USS Albion, USS Dragon, and USS Argama have made a makeshift holding area for all prisoners on the starbase, and posted security and medical personnel. So far, the prisoners have been compliant, making tending to their care and feeding much easier, even as they grumble among themselves about defeat, and lost glories, according to staff.

We are awaiting relief vessels for more permanent handling of these prisoners of war and control of the starbase soon, so we may redeploy to new fronts.

RECOMMENDATION Our assault teams have captured all data from the starbase computer systems into quarantined storage. We will be passing the storage devices to Starfleet Intelligence for further analysis, and therefore of course recommend they analyze it soon for any relevant information to the war effort. Also recommend immediate deployment of specialized ships and teams to handle the prisoners of war here, if not handling the ongoing manning of the starbase and its defense.

RECOGNITION I would recognize Captain Serah Grant for her aggressive and unorthodox tactics, which once again proved very effective against a much larger enemy ship. Commander LaSalle for planning and leading an effective capture of the Romulan starbase without loss of life. LTCDR Shaw and LT Wind-People for their invaluable skill in combat and infiltration on this mission. Also to Cetratus Squadron for keeping the enemy from thwarting this mission. All ships performed well in their roles of this task force, allowing us to defeat a starbase and ships simultaneously without losing our own.

OOC A big thank you to everyone who joined! Especially @dragonforza for bringing an alt to fill a security role at the very last minute.
