LOCATION Deep Space 13

MISSION Defend Deep Space 13 and surrounding space from attack by Terran Empire.

OUTCOME Terrans repelled successfully, no civilian casualties. USS Pegasus suffered damage, and DS13 Security suffered losses to a Terran boarding party.

KEY PERSONNEL

  • CAPT De Drowvani Nimitz
  • CAPT Nimitz
  • CMDR Tyrstoc

  • CMDR Kermit, J.
  • CMDR Sideris
  • CMDR Sedai

  • ISS Attenborough (Lauren)
  • ISS Birk (Izly)
  • ISS Bob Ross
  • ISS Julie Andrews

NARRATIVE During gamma shift, four Terran vessels entered V774 Tau on attack vector towards DS13. The on-duty crew Ops crew diverted civilian traffic out of the system, called Red Alert, and notified nearby fleet starships.

I arrived in Main Operations and took command as the battle was getting underway. Fighters were launched and starbase defensive fire progressively increased to maximum output. Pegasus drew the enemy’s fire in the opening moments and was quickly disabled for her efforts. Moytura and Scharnhorst provided sufficient covering fire to keep DS13’s shields from undue strain as the fight dragged on. Both ships contributed security forces to the defense against a Terran boarding action on the Scharnhorst. Soon, ISS Bob Ross was destroyed, and the remaining Terran vessels fled the system. Pegasus was towed into drydock and scheduled for priority repairs.

Unfortunately, the boarding party which afflicted Scharnhorst arrived shortly before the ship maneuvered inside the station’s shield perimeter, allowing a handful of boarders to transfer directly from Scharnhorst to DS13. As casualties were being transferred as well, this enabled them to take their initial actions without immediately setting off an intruder alert.

The intruders arrived on Deck 170. Two damage control engineers were later found dead near their suspected beam-in point. The Terrans proceeded to Deck 172 where they engaged in a firefight with a security team and other officers nearby. Four officers were wounded, including Commanders Sideris and Sedai, and three others were killed. Intruder alert was called after the phaser fire was detected.

Unfortunately, the Terrans managed to make their way to a docking port on Deck 149. An additional two security officers were killed outside the docking port, and six of their number escaped the station on the stolen SS Palukoo.

Commanders Sedai and Sideris are both expected to make full recoveries. Lieutenant Kralj and Crewman Ferrara are both currently in critical condition, but also expected to recover, given time. Personnel KIA were Lieutenant Torbur, Ensigns Vertar, Stobbart, and Ch’akoval, Petty Officer Sorr, and Crewmen Yezki and Henriksen.

RECOMMENDATION The transport vector that allowed the Terrans to board undetected was purely opportunistic, and would be extremely difficult to replicate intentionally, but it is a possibility worth considering in the future, regardless. Starships with intruders aboard should refrain from entering the shield perimeter of the starbase or other allied vessels. At minimum, such a threat should be broadcast to nearby vessels so precautions can be taken.

Stationside, forcing incoming transporter activity to link to a pad rather than allowing operation in site-to-site mode would negate this issue entirely, but I am uncertain as to the risk/reward validity of delaying transport of wounded and other mission-critical events in the name of safety against such an unlikely threat vector.

RECOGNITION Commander Tyrstoc took an active role in fleet coordination and target designation, especially early in the battle. The crew of DS13 appreciates his initiative and leadership.

OOC Thanks to @Lauren for organizing and running this! DS13 is OP as hell in SHIP Captain, but it was fun anyway! (Though I may be biased :joy: )

The stuff with the intruders on station was a separate RP scene played out the following day. Check replies here for more info on that to come!

ADDENDUM Referencing above report, those with need to know please note that the boarding party’s objective was apparently the rescue Terran Admiral Perim. Commanders Sideris and Sedai were in the detention facility questioning the Admiral when the attack began, and therefore in the line of fire when the intruders arrived.

Commander Sedai was captured when the intruders reached them. The Terrans directed her to contact Ops to arrange for their safe passage off the station, on threat of her life. The Commander indicated to me that there was more to the situation than there appeared. I contacted Admiral Aluk, and was ordered to comply with the Terrans’ demands. I noted my objection to this order in the station log, linked to this addendum’s security clearance.

To comply with Admiral Aluk’s order, security was ordered to clear a path to Shuttle Bay 4. The Terrans deviated from the agreed-upon plan and instead routed to the civilian docking port on Deck 149, where two security officers were killed. Commander Sedai was discovered near the docking port, merely stunned.

Admiral Perim and one of her Aenar associates escaped with the Terrans on the Palukoo. The second Aenar remains in custody.

MISSION Negotiate terms of Terran Admiral Perim’s release.

OUTCOME Opportunity arose to facilitate Terran Admiral Perim’s (albeit premature) release from station. 1 Aenar accomplice additionally removed from custody.

KEY PERSONNEL

  • CMDR Kermit, J.
  • CMDR Sedai
  • CMDR Sideris

  • Terran ADM Perim
  • Terran Ensign LT Ramirez (npc)
  • Terran CMDR Rochelle (deceased) (npc)

NARRATIVE Please note that names of Terran personnel were obtained through telepathic means and may not reflect formal identification.

At the time of red alert, CMDR Sideris and myself were in talks with Terran Admiral Perim pursuant REDACTED. Admiral Perim was not able to provide definitive insight on the invading fleet’s purpose, but it quickly became moot as the boarding party descended on our location. CMDR Sideris was immediately stunned and while I did initially try to resist capture, prudence dictated that I surrender in the end.

The Terran team then released Perim from her cell, who had convinced the others of my usefulness as a bargaining chip, so I spent much of the remaining venture with a phaser pressed against my back.

I should note at this time that the Terran boarding party was not fully in accordance with one another. Though their primary mission did appear to be an attempt to recover and free Admiral Perim, the Terrans’ commanding officer likewise had orders to kill the target if rescue seemed futile. This nearly came to pass as Perim demanded that the Terran officers recover her Aenar bodyguards, while CMDR Rochelle continually countermanded her. Just as it seemed that Rochelle had reached the end of her patience, officer Ramirez suddenly shot her in the stomach multiple times, before issuing his allegiance to Admiral Perim.

With the chain of command definitively settled, I was directed by Admiral Perim to negotiate safe passage off the station via communications. As I am aware that granting such a directive is generally against protocol, I did my best to discreetly communicate to CMDR Kermit the necessity of consulting Admiral Aluk, which he appeared to understand.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Admiral Perim did not direct her subordinates to follow the prescribed route to the Deck 50 shuttlebay and they instead took command of a civilian freighter at the nearest docking port. As they were preparing to leave, Admiral Perim finally released me at the docking port hatch, accompanied by a point blank stun shot. I regained consciousness later in sickbay.

At this time, I would like to note that I strongly feel that the efforts spent to foster positive rapport between Starfleet and Terran Admiral Perim were (at least in this case) not ill spent. Based on my observations of the previous proceedings, Admiral Perim did in fact appear to value my well-being to some degree and this may have helped me avoid more severe injury.

RECOMMENDATION No recommendations at this time.

OOC Super enjoyed the Ramirez twist. :P Thanks, @Lauren !
