LOCATION Civilian Trading Station, so named “THE BLOB”

MISSION Extraction of survivor (one ‘Pella’) from privateer vessel destroyed by unknown species. Survivor is actively being targeted by Hirogen Hunters for currently unclear reasons.

OUTCOME Individual was extracted despite heavy, costly engagement against Hirogen forces. Individual is to be questioned. Addendum will be published to this report post-debriefing.

KEY PERSONNEL

  • CAPT A. Mirazuni
  • CAPT I. Lyn
  • CDR Nathes

NARRATIVE USS Minerva arrived at the civilian station, wherein personnel proceeded to beam aboard the station and locate the survivor. After speaking with an individual named Kettar, the effective leader of the mercantile station, personnel discovered the identity of the Orion survivor: Pella.

Upon approaching the individual, communication was hampered and Orion hunters proceeded to brutally assault the facility. The hunters stormed the main mercantile center, shooting at will. Communications was eventually reestablished with the USS Minerva, which was in a heavy engagement against Hirogen warship.

The contact, as well as officers operating on the station, were brought aboard. Despite attempts to bring Kettar with us, the individual insisted on remaining with his people. On account of the five Hirogen warships engaging the Minerva, it would have been untenable for the Minerva to pick up any more from the station. With personnel, along with the asset, accounted for, the USS Minerva departed out of the system to avoid total obliteration by Hirogen Forces.

RECOMMENDATION The Hirogen directed significant resources to acquiring Miss Pella. They systematically ravaged the facility and caused significant damage to the USS Minerva. On account of this, a debriefing (in compliance with protocals of the Khitomer Alliance) of Miss Pella will commence post-haste.

Immediately, however, it is recommended RRF Command evaluate the Hirogen threat. This enemy operated with near impunity, suggesting they perhaps have a forward operating facility in the region.

RECOGNITION
Captain A. Mirazuni demonstrated cool, pragmatic discipline in the face of being shot at by Hirogen operated on the station. Her presence proved the deciding factor in the operation’s success.

Captain I. Lyn demonstrated supreme tactical acumen in fending off five Hirogen vessels. Her decisions ensured the survival of involved personnel as well as the recovery of Miss Pella

OOC Am addendum/update to this report will be posted following a debriefing with the Orion NPC. Thank you @Isadora for the excellent event. And thank you @Sam for a great RP session. I am look forward to interviewing this NPC.

ADDENDUM
The interview was conducted and concluded. A full transcript of the interview will be provided in this report.

Pella proved to be extremely forthcoming with the information she provided. Official recommendations on what her status should be shall be provided at the end of this addendum. Mission relevant information will be provided in this addendum.

  • Pella encountered an alien by the name of Ilin, who belongs to a species which Ilin called the ‘Siluvan’. This species corresponds to the ones encountered near the Great Galactic Barrier.

  • Pella’s cooperation with Ilin, who was held captive against his will, demonstrates this species is approachable. Though past purported associations with this species bear consideration, Pella’s account presents diplomatic potential.

  • An information broker to the privateer vessel, DISPAAR, an individual named ‘The Sparrow’, seems particularly interested in these aliens. So much so that he provided the information he knew to the Hirogen.

  • Ilin, prior to his capture, was seeking something called Tha’khel ral N’Zema .

RECOMMENDATIONS

Pella needs protection. Starbase Thirteen would provide ample security until the threat of the Hirogen is assessed and dealt with. Should Starfleet be unable to provide protection, then the Romulan Republic can provide security for this individual until the threat is neutralized.

The nature of Tha’khel ral N’Zema should be investigated. Speculation will do little good.

The identity of THE SPARROW, and indeed why they (or perhaps who employs them) are so keen on learning about this species should be investigated. Who is he? Who does he work for? The usual questions.

The Hirogen are already purported to be collaborating with the Rator III Regime. Now, they appear to be collaborating with this SPARROW and striking civilian facilities with impunity. Threat assessment of this enemy should be evaluated post-haste.
