CAPT W. Lesyak
LOCATION Far side of Luwiyan Confederacy, Luwiyan designation TPX-014.
MISSION Rendezvous with Luwiyan Confederacy representatives as it was arranged in AAR: Lords of Luwiya.
OUTCOME Brief second encounter with the Ashuri. Potential deliberate miscommunication with Luwiyan Condeferacy government.
KEY PERSONNEL
- CAPT Mirazuni Ayesha, CO-USS Endeavour
- CAPT Andrej Timoreev, CO-USS Attar
- LT Terre Jeei, Deep Space 13 - Engineering Dept.
- CAPT Wanya Lesyak, CO-USS Aspasia
NARRATIVE Following the unexpected cancellation of our second diplomatic summit due to a system-wide failure aboard the Luwiyan flagship CSS Crimson Sunrise, Captain Timoreev convened a briefing with Captain Mirazuni and myself. Timoreev informed us that the Luwiyans had dispatched new meeting coordinates pointing to TPX-014, an unremarkable solar system featuring twin stars, several planetoids, and a rogue comet located just beyond Luwiyan territory.
An advance probe launched by the Attar detected unusual energy readings on a planetoid within TPX-014. While no Ashuri presence was initially observed, the sudden shift in coordinates raised mutual concerns that the Luwiyans were buying time or acting under false pretenses. Authorized by Fleet Command to proceed independently, our task group set course for TPX-014 under high caution.
Upon dropping out of warp at system TPX-014, our standard scans confirmed strong anomalous readings emanating directly from a planetoid’s surface, yet no Luwiyan vessels were present at the rendezvous site.
Acting as the lead vessel to investigate while the Endeavour provided tactical cover and the Attar monitored planetary readings, the Aspasia moved closer. Suddenly, the Aspasia was ensnared by a powerful, adaptive planetary energy field originating from a localized surface structure. Thruster maneuvers failed to break the hold. Subsequent spectral analysis revealed that the field’s frequency matched energy signatures recorded by the USS Enterprise during the Apollo incident on the planet Pollux IV, Stardate 3468.1 (2267) .
To resolve the capture without resorting to orbital bombardment, I assembled an away team consisting of Captain Timoreev, Captain Mirazuni, Lieutenant Terre and myself. We beamed down to an arid surface a few meters from an ancient monumental structure framed by engraved pillars. These were the findings:
-
Hieroglyphic Translations: Scans of the exterior pillars revealed ancient Luwiyan inscriptions consisting of prayers and exhortations offering homage to a pantheon of deities: Khebat, Shawushka, Tiwat, Tarkhunt, Runtiya, Santa, and the Ilalianti.
-
Archaeological Dating: Structural analysis dated the monumental temple to approximately 3,000 years old, aligning with the historical timeline of the Luwiyan exodus from Earth.
-
The Anomaly: Deep within the central chamber, beneath a roof depicting stellar reliefs and surrounding an energy cusp, we discovered a functional control console. Scans revealed the console was less than a year old and utilized modern Luwiyan scripting, proving that contemporary actors had recently tampered with or repurposed the ancient complex.
During our investigation of the interior chamber, the Aspasia alerted us to two incoming warp signatures. The first approaching vessel was identified as Ashuri.
Facing an imminent hostile engagement while immobilized, Lieutenant Terre identified a cycling power fluctuation within the planetary transmission system. By sending remodification protocol for Aspasia’s main deflector emitters to project a targeted disruption sequence at the surface source, Terre successfully triggered an automated system shutdown, collapsing the energy field and freeing the Aspasia. Upon the field’s collapse, the incoming Ashuri starship halted at the system’s outskirts and abruptly retreated without engaging.
The second warp signature belonged to the Luwiyan vessel Triumvirs’ Will, leading the 2nd Commonwealth Fleet under Admiral Murshili.
Upon establishing communications, Admiral Murshili claimed his fleet was dispatched on emergency long-range sensor alerts to assist us. When questioned regarding the meeting coordinates, a visibly embarrassed Murshili stated that the official diplomatic meeting had actually been scheduled at the borders of the Principality of Masuwari, and that his government had never transmitted coordinates for TPX-014.
RECOMMENDATION Whether this miscommunication between us and Luwiyan Confederation was accidental or not, we need to re-analyze the original invitation message down to the last metadata piece of information. I have also advised the fellow Captains to try removing the console discreetly while I keep the Admiral busy, though he seems to be somewhat at loss like Captain Piyamaradu in the previous encounter. The Ashuri’s not-response is also very unusual.

RECOGNITION Lieutenant Terre performed admirably in disabling the tractor beam which held the Aspasia. I am still trying to understand how she disabled the mechanism but it was nothing short of “miracle worker”.
OOC Thanks @Timoreev for another good mystery and thanks @Sam and @Fuse1983 for participating. Logs: Stars of Luwiya - Part 1 | Stars of Luwiya - Part 2
