CAPT Morton, C
ADDENDUM Based on STFLT CIR: Stardate- 100400.3 it is of this officer’s opinion that asset focus be assigned to relieving pressure on Romulan Republic Flotilla and Defence Battle-groups, in agreement with Captain Mirazuni, A. on sector control.
Starfleet’s engagement in defence of northern sectors and projected success in holding of Republic facilities provides vital backing to what could be perceived as an amended Operation Cold Turkey. With the Chaltok system under assault and a number of Republic resources already enroute to the system, assisting in fortification of the system by drawing enemy forces into retreat would allow an extension in breathing room for Republic forces to regroup and advance, while cutting off lower settlements established posing threat to central Republic territory.
- Vessel and Task Force assignment Dependent on up to date hostile force intelligence. While this stretches potential 38th Fleet deployment to a maximum, elements of the 27th Fleet should be considered pivotal to bolstering force potential in unison while current fleet movements operating from Starbase-39 have defence sustained, however this proposal operates under the assumption of solely 38th Fleet assets regarding offensive action.
Tertiary Development
The 38th Fleet would be divided into three task forces launched from the Dera system. Each of these three groups will comprise of heavy capitol ships, each with an experienced commanding officer acting flag, with carrier support and an independent vessel solely dedicated to counter-cloak operations and long range reconnaissance plus escort.
Task Force Alpha to be comprised of heavy-hitters, as well as to be the largest of the three elements created from 38th Fleet assets, due to the reported presence within the Gasko system.
Demonstrative Task Force Composition
TASK FORCE ALPHA
TASK FORCE BETA
TASK FORCE GAMMA
1a. Launching a forked offensive on the Gasko and Aith’ndor systems.
-
Alpha and Beta to engage at Gasko. It is with hope and further intelligence the larger task force offensive induces RSN fallback and relieves pressure on Republic forces. Based on reports this effort carries risk to Starfleet assets with an active Tal Shiar presence in the system. Supporting RRF assets being directed to the sector following assault would increase success, ensuring the hold of the system following Starfleet element’s departure.
-
Gamma strikes Aith’ndor, drawing forces away from Chaltok. Main mission criteria remains constant throughout all attacks, an assualt on Aith’ndor with considerable volume will likely result in redirection of Star Empire forces else they face becoming entrapped.
2c. Regrouping at Aith’ndor, forward push into Chaltok system defence.
-
Alpha proceeds at high speed directly to bolster RRF defence forces in the Chaltok system. With an experienced commander and the heavy vessels of the 38th Fleet this should lessen the pressure of current hostile combatants.
-
Beta regroups with Gamma at Aith’ndor to secure the system from RSE control, this movememnt should bring with it a retaliation force withdrawing from Chaltok in effort to prevent Starfleet’s momentum from fighting through the approaching northern corridor.
-
Securing Aith’ndor provides respite on any potential support heading for the Gasko system and preventing the Romulan Republic from being cut in half; leading also clear transit past Iconian space.
3b. 38th Fleet elements commit to fortification of the T’iokol system, closing the Romulan Star Empire’s supply corridor to the Gasko sector.
-
Alpha and available Romulan Republic vessels pursue fleeing Star Empire vessels into the system, allowing Republic reinforcements to secure Chaltok.
-
Beta and Gamma engage retreating Star Empire vessels to push them out of the Iconia sector and remain on station to fortify T’iokol. Science vessels to begin thorough sweeps of sector border.

3.
The drawing out of Chaltok’s hostile combatants is the offensive’s main objective, if task force elements are able to regroup successfully following defence of Chaltok in pursuit of Star Empire forces to the T’iokol system Starfleet will have cut off and secured the proverbial back door to Republic space- resulting in which a fully fledged battlegroup should a counter attack from redirected Star Empire forces be attempted.
While this by no means ensures it’s permanent security, it allows republic forces to regroup and bolster defence within western regions at a vital, early stage of this conflict. It’s to be considered based on current intelligence whether maintaining momentum and pushing up to a full scale assault on the Fvillhaih system is viable at this stage of the campaign, but this would strike a devastating blow to any Star Empire deployments operating in the theater outside of Rator III’s logistical range.
