The recently established colony on 3-Delta-Gammonis has, for some time, been losing carrots from agricultural greenhouses and outside plots. Although the thefts were initally blamed on teenagers, they have spread across the various colony sites on the planet and become endemic. Camera traps and motion sensors have failed to identify the culprits, although motion sensors have been triggered on several occasions with no results. As there is no apparent threat to life, the colonial charter prohibits the use of capture traps, due to the completely unknown nature of the thieves and the risk of harm that results.
As a result, the colony has requested the involvement of Starfleet to investigate the thefts and identify the culprits.
