The stardate you listed translates to the year 2814.
The calculator is based on the IRL date, and automatically adds the 399 years for you. As I'm writing this, the stardate is 92082.8.

Ahh, that's probably why. Dates before 2323 don't convert properly because the stardate format changed between TOS and TNG. 2244 is... pre-TOS, even (The first Excelsior Class wasn't commissioned until 2285). If you were looking for 2344, that'd be stardate 21727.2
