Spring '18 Awards Ceremony
Our spring Awards and Promotion Ceremony will be on Sun, May 20th @ beta. Awards will be for in-character actions and presented in an in-character event.
As per usual, we are looking for nominations for awards. If your character, or characters you've observed, went through experiences that might qualify them for an award, please feel free to nominate them by posting to staff support, stating who and why you think they deserve it. We are looking for IC actions, but they don't have to be from specific events; general observations about the character's service are fine as well. If you need ideas of what types of actions might net an award for a character, check out the guide post here.
We will also be doing IC promotions at this event. If you would like to talk to the staff about having your character promoted, please make a post to that character's registry thread in Staff Support and we can discuss it there.
Obviously not everyone will be able to attend the ceremony, but that doesn't mean your character didn't get an award. We will be posting a full list of awards to the forums following the ceremony.
Award submissions must be submitted to staff by Tues, May 15th.
In the past, we have held this event in a variety of locations, since no one single space has been ideal, and I'm guessing it won't be any different this time, so on the day of, please be in your dress uniform and sit tight for the actual announcement of location. But speaking of uniforms...
Fleet Uniform Design Contest
Okay, don't freak out. Here's how this is going to go. We are, as usual, holding our annual poll on what the official fleet uniform will be. However this time, instead of pitting the STO canon Odyssey set against an unknown 'other' quantity, players will be allowed to submit some options of other uniforms to be pit against the current canon option.
Starting from today, we will be accepting uniform designs via the Staff Support subforum. Your entries should include the following:
- all uniform pieces used in the uniform must be available for free or purchased only from fleet holdings tailors that the fleet currently has access to.
- at least one screenshot of what the completed uniform looks like
- a breakdown of the color codes and uniform pieces used to make the uniform
Submissions must be submitted to the Staff Support subforum by Sunday, May 6th.
At the end of the submission date, the staff will be reviewing all the submissions and we will select the top options to compete against the current fleet uniform. The final poll will be ranking based, rather than popular vote, and there will only be one poll.
The poll will be closed before the ceremony, but the announcement on which uniform has won will not happen until after the ceremony.
