Subj: 38th Fleet Summer Vacation 2421

All,

As stated in the most recent Regional Operations Briefing, there was a possiblity of our annual summer vacation being cancelled or postponed due to the events of the Klingon Civil War. I can now annouce that this will not be the case.

38th Fleet’s annual leave will commence from the 15th July, Beta Shift (Station time), until Friday 28th July, Beta Shift (Station time). As usual, accomodation has been arranged for members of the 38th Fleet.

Ship Captains will need to contact the Office of the Admiralty with their preferred dates of leave. Squadron rotations will be changed in order to accomodate ships on leave. All ship captains are encouraged to give at least three days of leave, as per Starfleet Regulations.

Please contact the Office of the Admiralty if you have any questions.

Regards,

OOC This is just some flavour text. Captains do not need to do anything to be allowed to attend (unless you want to!) Everyone come to Risa. RISA PARTY! all birds will die

Subj: Regarding Risa Shore Leave

Admiral,

I was going to inform you later this month, but given your most recent memo, it may be prudent that you be informed now. As of this moment, we have passed beyond the point by which refunds and cancellations may occur for the Risa shore leave, and all ships, personnel, and material that has been allocated to facilitate the shore leave is in place. Reassignment of necessary material would take too long for it to be strategically viable now that all is ready.

Furthermore, attempting to withdraw now would lead to a loss of resources and funds that we would not be able to retrieve or reallocate. It would be most inefficient to do so now and would lead to several empty hotels that have been booked. That money cannot be refunded, and the hotels will find themselves less willing to offer preferential deals in the future due to our inability to fulfill our promises.

We are committed, sir.

Of course, this was all discussed in the last fleet budgetary committee meeting and announced at the conclusion of it. Though, I have never actually seen you attend any of the budgetary meetings.

OOC Valore hates Risa, but she hates Sam more. She’ll be damned if he gets to cancel it! The little bit about Sam not attending budgetary meetings was included with the permission of Sam OOCly prior to this post.

Lieutenant Commander,

Thank you for informing of that fact. Fortunately all turned out well this time round, but it is good to know in case of other cases that may affect our annual shore leave.
