This thread is dedicated to items that may be left around the station for a day or two and end up here. No item is needed to be permanently lost to be posted in the box. Simply misplaced items or left on a table without thinking.

-Special rule-

Only post item descriptions.
(Amendment: You may also, if you decide to, post the location where said item was found)

The idea of the thread is to give insight to characters through the little things. That's the fun of the challenge, to describe items in detail. Get creative and have fun!

Item: Small Antique Book - "Treasure Island"

A green book that appears to be from the late 20th century. The book's cover is made from what seems like a slightly thicker paper. It's cover depicts six men, the one closest to the bottom is a light skinned man with dark hair, a white shirt, a red bandana. The second man behind him appears to have some sort of 16th century weapon in hand, slung over his shoulder. He wears a orange and white striped shirt. His teeth do not look quite straight and he wears two large golden earrings, a tan bandana, and a green tricorne.

The third man, about the middle of the cover, wears white and holds a dagger in his mouth and a red bandana, as the next three men seem to dress all in a similar fashion carrying weapons similar to that of the green hatted fellow. Above all of them are large white words "TREASURE ISLAND".

Inside the book, the pages are yellowish almost faded print words cover each page of the book telling a story. However, the very first page is marked with a signature and some hand written words 'To my adventurer, with love.' The back cover appears ripped, the book having seen better days. Mostly exposed is the last blank page of the book.

Item: small electronic picture frame.

The picture was taken in what seems to be the sick bay of a star ship. Various starfleet personnel are standing to the sides of a lone Aquarian doctor. Some are smiling and laughing while others seem near tears. The doctor's expression is one of suprise. The Captain, an Orion female, stands next to him. Her face is unreadable.

There is a small option at the bottom of the frame. When pressed, a myriad of recorded voices sings out "Good luck doctor, we'll miss you!"
Item: Starbase Medical Issue PADD

On Deep Space Thirteen lies a rather plain, standard table - and for whatever reason is clearly more favored over the other two chair/table combos inside the stations number one hot-spot for any grilled non-replicated food this side of the MACO barbecue flats on Nukara - and due to this tables beaming popularity, it's rumored that several officers have even begun minor disputes over who has the current rights to be seated at a number of specific times. Station security has hardly commented on the matter. However, it's not the table in particular that is important, nor anyone sitting in the rather hard-cushioned seats, to which purely for added detail and documentation purposes houses a regular user of the recreational location, an officer of some stature clad in a blue task force tunic - it's more the PADD like object that's residing in the opposite empty seat.

The PADD itself hardly looks special, in fact if anything; it looks rather untouched. It follows the basic aesthetic design that most of the PADDs on the station do, surely the design is a couple of years old by now, and from the slightly dimmed display light emitting from the screen, the PADD itself can't be very new either. But as stated, still looks almost untouched, the couple of hard-touch buttons on the base still have their applied decals in full detail, with probably just the slightest amount of fading in the black color of them. Probably the only thing to note about the PADD that really excludes it from the many like it, would be the lettering labeled in Earth English on the top most rim of the screen: S-L

Item: Mid 2270's uniform pants.

The inside tags state, "Manufactured by Krako & Associates....Dry Clean only....Lt. Kathleen Pyrite", these pants were discovered by cleaning personnel on Deck 39, section 12. Upon further inspection wine stains were found on the left pant leg.

Security notice:
Security advises that while the owner of the pants is not considered dangerous, any information on the whereabouts of Lt. Pyrite will be appreciated. Sigma Iotia II authorities have been notified.

The pants have been cleaned and are being kept in security office four.
Item: Coffe Cup - Earth

The object is a simple ceramic cup, cylindrical in shape with an oval shaped handle that connects an inch from the top and bottom of the cup. The cup is white, clean, the inside slightly stained from frequent use. Upon the bottom were the faded markings that could be just read, 'TO: C.K. / From H.K.'.

The cup had a picture printed, to the right of the handle. The picture was a large logo of Starfleet and under it was a banner with the words 'Engineer' printed.

Item: Romulan issue PADD

Said PADD is scuffed, scratched and has bits of dried, sticky ice cream on it. It appears to contain notes for a Holonovel named "T'Janikel's Tears".

Item was found left on a table on the starbase next to a partially empty glass of strawberry milkshake and mostly finished bowl of Vulcan Mocha Ice Cream.

Additional Note: Item did not stay in lost and found very long.
Item: Starfleet issue PADD

The PADD is completely average in all respects, though the lack of scuff marks and scratches signifies that it is either a newly appropriated PADD or the owner was generally careful with its condition... at least up until it was lost. Statistically speaking, this makes Administrator Jal'Shan the most likely proprietor, only the lack of a tracking sticker on the back indicates otherwise.

There's no encoded lockout on the device, so it's possible to peruse the files stored on it. They appear to be full of documentation on various medical facility processes, especially trauma centers. There are also tons of case study files, accompanied by research notes, on large scale spacefaring disasters and how the nearest medical facilities have coped with those.

Originally found on DS13's embassy level, left on an armchair near the lounge-side fishtank.

Item: A pair of white leather gloves

Likely replicator-made, the visible seams and hemming disqualify these as the elegant evening-out sort, but they are fairly form-fitting and based on the taper, most likely made for a female's fingers. Their length would bring them a couple inches past the wearer's wrist. The palms have an additional layer of rough padding for increased friction and grip. Nothing else stands out about them.

Originally found at Swifty's, on one of the red loungers in the back.

(Item recovered.)
Item: Necklace of... Targ tusks?

Six tusks in total all of near similar size and shape. Each tusk has a hole drilled through each to easily allow the string to be threaded through. Each rust is fairly similar in color, a shade of off white, close to yellowish. The tusks measure out to be out to be almost three inches long and almost an inch in diameter. The tips come to a sharp point upon the tusks, while the base seems to have a clean cut upon the bottom.

Where it was found, turned in by a confused cadet.

(This item is still lost.)
Item: An ugly statue

It appears to be carved out of murky, dark green jade or some similarly colored stone. If one squints sufficiently, the bulbous item appears to be some sort of fantasy-esque demon or imp or goblin or gargoyle, with exaggerated facial features and an especially malicious looking grin. Its limbs are hugged around itself as it stares up at the viewer with one wide-open opaline eye.

Item: worn hard cover book: The Art of War by Sun Tzu

The cover of the book is a deep red with black serif lettering. On the first inside page is written: Evelyn, your tactics in the wolf exercise were sneaky, underhanded and I insist you still cheated!

A warrior is judged by their enemies, a person by their friends. I treasure having known you.

Never forget, combat is the last option, only when all else fails. When it does make your victory swift.

Item: A standard Starfleet PADD

This Starfleet PADD looks a bit more like communal property, one of those that gets passed around a lot as people edit and collaborate on particular documents and reports.

The device is unlocked, the most recent files have been marked "OBSOLETE", with additional notes: no point in releasing this on proposal date, everything's inaccurate now.

Item: A gift basket

This gift basket has been inspected and approved by starbase security and is currently unclaimed. It's contents include a variety of Romulan spirts and fruits and a small thank you card which reads: "To the brave Romulan commander who saved my life, along with others during the Iconian war. Respectfully, Senator Zdef, Imperial Romulan Senate".

There is no return address but it's origins are pretty easily ascertained.

(This basket has already received several hungry and thirsty glares at it.)

Left on the conference table on the Starbase ops deck. One box, 15 cm cubed. Contains a number of different combadges and insignia from the history of Starfleet. Some have micro-inscriptions of assorted ship names and service numbers on the back.

Item: A paperback novel

The book seems to be a simple pocket sized print copy of a novel. The covers are worn with time but it is clear that the books owner has taken good care of it. The pages are printed in a language composed of intricate characters set in a vertically aligned typeface. The cover depicts a rather muscular Caitian male with a female in his arms, standing on the prow of a wooden sailing ship against a backdrop of stars.

Between pages 83 and 84 is a cash out slip for Quarks Bar for a single slip of gold pressed latinum.
