RRF AND STAR EMPIRE FORCES CLASH NEAR CRATERIS SYSTEM
RRF Command reported this morning of a small scale incursion of about five Imperial T’Varo Warbirds near the Crateris system. The 2nd Flotilla was quick to respond to the threat, and reported that all five of the warbirds were completely driven out of the system.
“The threat to the Crateris system was neutralized.” said Commander Viara of the 2nd Flotilla. “The enemy was routed and several extensive patrols were conducted to ensure the enemy was not loitering in the area under cloak.”
The engagement is the latest in a string of hostile actions perpetrated by the Ancient Regime. RRF Command believes, however, that these actions are nothing more than a distraction from the real action: Tri’Vokil. Intelligence reports have indicated that the Star Empire is amassing considerable forces near the Free State again. The numbers involved would indicate an incursion of some sort is possible in the near future.
“Pay attention to the details.” said Admiral Kererek this morning. “It is smoke an mirrors with the Old Order. We of course will keep the frontier safe. But the real fulcrum of future events will be near Tri’Vokil. The enemy has a vested interest in that world.”
EXPEDITIONARY FLOTILLAS FACE FIRST TEST
The Senate is paying close attention to the new Expeditionary Flotillas in light of both the Tri’Vokil situation as well as galactic threats abroad. In particular, the 11th Expeditionary Flotilla has come under careful observation. Though its predecessor, the JSI imbedded with the 38th Fleet, proved to be successful, many analysts are skeptical about the new Expeditionary Flotilla program.
“We have renewed hostilities against the Ancient Regime, yet RRF Command deems it fit that we continue keeping forces needed in this fight.” said Senator Trinik in a speech this morning.
In the face of persistent questioning, the Commander in charge of the 11th Flotilla’s flagship, one Commander Nathes, issued a prepared, generalized statement to the increased attention.
“The Senate surely understands the importance of OPSEC. The 11th Flotilla is well aware of ongoing threats and is busy responding to them. Both the Senate Continuing Committee and my superior, Admiral Miral, will tell you the same thing.”
Indeed, when questioned, the Continuing Committee found no reason to harbor concern for the newly formed Expeditionary Flotilla. Further, the Chairman of the Committee offered a statement to the Wings and Talons.
“The Continuing Committee is confident in the Military’s decisions. It sees no reason to launch inquiries, especially in face of hostilities from Rator III. The questions posed by Senator Trinik are immaterial. The 11th Expeditionary Flotilla, along with EVERY other flotilla in the RRF at present, can be assured that the Senate will not hamper their ongoing objectives against Rator III’s hostilities.”
Senator Trinik’s office, meanwhile, declined offering any statement to the Wings and Talons.
The fact remains, though, that the Expeditionary Flotillas are untested. And indeed, they will be observed closely these next few months.
STARFLEET STRENGTHENS POSITION IN TRI’VOKIL SYSTEM
Recent reports from our reports on Earth have indicated that Starfleet, primarily through its 38th Fleet, have committed themselves fully to the defense of Tri’Vokil. While Starfleet Command has refused to comment, increased Federation activity within the Free State is proof enough.
Further, Rator III has issued a number of rather outrageous statements directed towards our stalwart allies in the Federation.
“THE FEDERATION HAS NO RIGHT TO SIDE WITH THE MOL’RIHAN REGIME IN THIS MATTER. ONCE AGAIN, THEY ARE PROVING THEMSELVES TO BE NOTHING MORE THAN A VULCAN-FINANCED PROTECTION RACKET. WHEN THE DAY FINALLY DAWNS, OUR GLORIOUS FORCES WILL OBLITERATE THE FEDERATION PRESENCE IN TRI’VOKIL AS WELL AS THE SO CALLED TRI’VOKIL FREE STATE.”
When asked to comment on Rator III’s position, Starfleet Command declined. Instead, it reiterated further words made several weeks ago by the Federation Diplomatic Corps, by one Ambassador Neema Perim.
