SUBJECT:Change of Engineering.

Fellow officers of the 38th fleet,

As of stardate 91348.2 I have been made the Chief Engineer of Deep Space 13. I know this is not a simple task to take up, I would like to thank Captain Altais for his stellar work at keeping the work up within the department. With his promotion there came a vacancy and our Commanding Officer has chosen me to fill the spot. Now while my time with you has been short, I like to think I have friends already. All of the personnel attached to this fleet have shown me a home far from my comfort zone and everyday I feel more in place.

With the formalities out of place, it is time we go on to our first action. As the Iconian threat is getting larger and larger so will the demands of our facilities. Yet, there is no time to panic and I wish to continue everything in an orderly fashion. My request is as follows.

To all Starship Commanding Officers:
This is a hard time for you, that is perfectly understandable. Many of you have damaged ships and have lost friends close to you, but I can not do wonders. What I can do however is repair your ships to the best of our abilities and so I request you reply to this message with a full damage report of your vessel. This way I can prioritize and the teams are able to work on critical tasks first. Do not worry however, you will all get your turn in due time.

To the members of the Engineering Department:
My name is Rix Brot'la. Many of you I have not met yet, but I hope that you will not mind my influence within the department as of now. If you have anything to discuss, feel free to drop by my office or find me on the floor. Better yet, I will be most likely found on the floor helping you all out. If you ever have any problem, my door is open. Literally, as I still have to fix it from bumping it with a hydro-spanner.

To the Deep Space 13 officers:
I hope to see you all soon during work we do. As with my own department, you are welcome to drop by and scold me for not fixing your replicators whenever you like.

With that out of the way, everyone has been doing stellar jobs at keeping the facility run. I would like to thank you all for that. As a personal note of thankfullness I have made a deal with Swifty. This entire friday, all drinks are on myself. I suggest you make use of it.

Thank you all for listening and be safe,

SUBJECT:RE: Change of Engineering.

Fellow officers of the 38th fleet,

The attack on Qo'nos was devastation on a scale I have yet to see. The lives that were lost will be remembered by all of us for the rest of our own existence. Yet, it is now the task for us to settle at home, contemplate the future and prepare for everything. In light of that I have the understanding that safe and proper equipment is our main priority.

After being merely a day in the position, I have much to learn. I can not hope to do everything correctly at once, but I do hope that you will all be patient in the coming time. There is a lot of things we as the Engineering department have to repair. It might come to a surprise, but Engineers hate repair things, we rather be busy building up new things. So for the future, please try to use your shields to their maximum ability. I was there at the Battle for Qo'nos so I understand the heavy rate, but I still request a less damaging tactic next time.

To Captain Quint - USS Paladin:
The Gryphon class is an unusual site. Only a couple have been made in the past and almost none at the fleet yards I was stationed, San Francisco. During the attack on the Earth Spacedock I found that these ships were the backbone of our reactionary forces. Due to the quick maneuverability and still the amazing fire power it posses. I am sad to see such a ship damaged to this extent.

All of the systems on the Bridge and the hull damage will take priority in our program. I intend to utilize your own engineering team, as the teams on our station do not have a lot of experience, with these modified Reman warpcorse. Most of the damage however is fairly superficial. I suspect repairs will take five days.

To Captain Noah Pailes - USS Galatea:
The Galatea is a fine ship. An experimental ship that I have seen the schematics of fly by from time to time during my station at the Fleet yards. Now do not get me wrong, I saw a lot of schematics, half of it I do not even remember and the other half is fuzzy in the back of my head. The hull is of course my main concern. Due to the administrative clearance and instructions that the teams of our Engineer require, these reparations will take a bit longer.

Main engineering and the hull breeches will be our primary concern, after that we will repair the damage to the bridge and other sections. I suspect the damage to be repaired within 5 to 6 days. Depending on the speed that Command gives our department clearance for the repairs of your hull.

To Captain Jack Buchanan - USS Dresden:

Luckily, in comparison to other ships that were in the battle, the Dresden is relatively undamaged. I have had contact with your Engineering officer, Commander Quirvoy, and instructed him to make his teams as useful as possible. I hope you understand that the Phantom is still a relatively new ship and we do not see a lot of these around. While the DS13 engineers are more than capable in comparison to their counterparts, we still might experience some troubles. Therefor I believe repairs will take 3 to 4 days, at maximum.

Thank you all for listening and be safe,

Hull Breaches: Port Sections of Decks 2, 3, and 4. Request first priority here.
Port Ablative Armor destroyed. Will require complete replacement. Request second priority here.

Cloaking System Compromised. Cloaking device itself survived undamaged, however several supporting subsystems have failed due to damage sustained. Repairs to this system are least critical and thus I request be the lowest priority.

Thank you.

I prefer to leave repairs to my own team, but the battle over Q'onos has made that option imprudent. I request only those critical repairs that will free up my own crew to handle our more specialized systems.

To all other ship captains noticed prior.

The ships are combat ready.

Captain Steven DePoe - USS Leyte Gulf:
I have already put one of my newest officers on the case of your ship. I trust her abilities to repair the vessel. As you know this is a very busy time and due to that I am less prudent to hold back my newer officers. She has shown interest and that means I am content with her ambition. Your ship will be ready before the end of the week.

To Subcommander Mandukar - R.R.W. D'Ishae:
Sub commander, it is lovely that you have all these classified operations, but we are in a time of war. Nevertheless we have complete Romulan teams on board of the station to work on your classified systems. These officers and crewmen have been part of the station for a long time and I expect you to let them do their work where necessary. Your own crew is as always under the operational steering of our own star base crew. May you wish to not have your ship repaired at the station, but at the Flotilla, do what you must.

Thank you all for listening and be safe,

Ths USS Firestorm was recently issued with new experimental technology by the starfleet corps of engineers.
I require one of your drydocks to install the new prototypes. However i wont need any of your staff since the installation will be handled by specialist from the corps.

I have gotten the message from Advanced Technologies division prior to this message. As they are currently are setting up an office on our base, essential they are going to be the ones to oversee the project. The specialists can take care of it, but I hope to keep several on station.

For twenty years I have been part of Advanced Technologies and installed numerous experimental technologies on ships and stations. Therefor, I hope to observe this new technology being installed on your ship with your permission of course. You will be able to use reserved Dock 14.

Commanding officers,

Once more, us of the Engineering department send out a memo for you to contact us in case of damages upon your ship or any other Engineering problem you might have. As the war keeps going we keep working as well. However, a new task can be preformed when requested. Any ship that is docked at Deepspace 13 can request an audit and full ship inspection by the Station chief engineer. This will make sure a second pair of eyes have checked your systems and will minimize damages in coming conflicts. Optimal systems create a saver environment for your crew.

A safe crew is a happy and hard working crew.
