Subj: Okchii System Ban Petition

Admiral,

I am sending you this communication to formally request a system travel ban for the Okchii System. At the writing of this, we have determined that conditions on the surface of Okchii I present an active and severe hazard to the lives of anyone attempting any activity on the surface. Also, take into account the severely hazardous approach due to the in system pulsar, and it is my professional opinion that this system is too dangerous for active resource harvesting and further scientific study.

I do recommend keeping the in system navigational markers in place, broadcasting on emergency frequencies, in case a ship has to enter the system for an emergency matter. Being able to take refuge in the planetary shadow that is Okchii I would provide time and position for repairs or rescue of a ship to be made.

Please see AAR’s located here for further information related to my request.

Captain,

Thank you for your petition. Starfleet is not prepared to issue a travel ban at this moment in time. The current classification of travel in the system is “avoid” and we do not feel it is necessary to upgrade this rating.

Should more incidents occur, Starfleet Command will look into changing the classification. You are to deploy probes to warn ships to avoid the area.

Regards,
