Michelle Forbes, the former Admiral Cain from Battlestar Galactica. From the clips I have seen of her in the show, I like her no nonsense approach to things, although she does seem to go a bit overboard near the end. I also like that underneath her sense of duty, and poise, is a someone who is human, and can show it.
Sorry I know you posted this in June, but I love her acting and her characters for the same reasons you mentioned. I might not be enamoured with how ruthless Caine in BSG can be but she still manages to charm somehow. I like the underlying layer and how Starbuck responds to it.

I picked her not only for her performance, which I mirror in Trellain to an extent, but she is also around my age group. Aside from the facet you see on station, she has a colder side when in command. Like most Andorians she is more militaristic, and this is reflected in her ship . although still within regulations, there are changes to Scharnhorst, that would be more inline with an Andorian ship. A search of Trellains record, would also reveal that there were no prisoners taken during her engagements in the Klingon conflict.

I originally picked Kevin Spacy, however.. seeing Nimitz in his new hair cut ((rather completely bald)) I realized that Michael Rosenbaum fits the role much better, also, early Smallville Lex Luthor fits perfectly for Romulans.
