A search for Diaderi brings up the following results/reports:

  • Initial exploration (K-1599): USS Endeavour discovers the ruins of a civilization on a heavily irradiated planet. A satellite in orbit was broadcasting a repeating message, warning others to learn from the Diaderi and not oppose the Azedi.
  • Message from the Korlackress Empire: The Diaderi were mentioned by the Korlackress as having controlled a significant portion of the Kelterre Sector in the distant past.
  • Kilur Database Research: The Diaderi Confederacy was mentioned in a Kilur Database as having been active roughly 150 years ago.
  • Follow-up Exploration: Further exploration provides insights into the Diaderi and their demise. They are discovered to have been a member of the Confederacy of Azed.

DISCOVERY & KNOWN HISTORY

Diaderi was originally charted by a Starfleet Long Range Astrometrics Probe and designated K-1599. It was flagged a point of interest for manned exploration after data revealed that the system may be capable of supporting life. The USS Endeavour was dispatched and conducted the initial survey.

It quickly became apparent that the Diaderi civilization had been wiped out by some sort of cataclysm, leaving the planet barren and populated by only ruins. A single functioning satellite left in orbit was found to be continually transmitting a short-range warning message: "Learn from the Diaderi. Those who oppose Azedi will never know peace." The lack of remaining government or military structures on the planet seems to support the leading theory that the Diaderi were wiped out by a hostile power.

Reports from around the sector indicate that the Diaderi Confederacy was once a major power in the now-Kelterre Sector. References to spacefaring Diaderi have been found dating from less than two centuries to over a thousand years in the past. Follow-up studies of the Diaderi ruins have estimated the civilization's final downfall to have taken place sometime in the 23rd Century.

Further investigation revealed that the Diaderi were not a confederacy of their own, but rather a member of the Confederacy of Azed. The Diaderi were excised from the Confederacy and subsequently wiped out, following some sort of internal disagreement.

PHYSIOLOGY

Evidence found on Diaderi suggests that the inhabitans were bipedal mammalian humanoids of roughly average height and stature. The Diaderi were distinguished by a pair of short antennae and skin tone that ranged from pale yellow to pale blue. Diaderi antennae were likely vestigial, serving no practical function. Diaderi lifespan is estimated to have been roughly 80-90 years.
