NARRATIVE Following the signal, we arrived at ruins that were dated back to 100,000 years ago.
In the middle of the ruins was a large crystalline structure.
Crystalline Structure
The crystalline structure emitted energy pulses, similar to neural impulses. Animals and insects avoided the structure. I advanced on the structure and attempted to scan, but the tricorder exploded and I suffered burns on my hands and arms.
Opting to not beam the crystal onto the ship, we returned to ship.
RECOMMENDATION Further analysis of the crystal needed.
RECOGNITION All personnel performed well.
