MISSION Reyga set out to locate Maart, CEO of Maart-Mart, and recover an Oubbard Figurine, believed the source of an infectious disease.

NARRATIVE Reyga’s crew had previously tentatively tracked the source of a curious infectious disease to contact with an Oubbard figurine, sometimes described as a “statue of a space cow”, which passed through an antique shop on DS13 and wound up in the hands of Tellarite entrepreneur Maart.
DS13 Intelligence followed up on this and Lieutenant Commander t’Veras joined the Reyga to investigate a lead. We proceeded to a Maart-Mart Distribution Center where Maart was believed likely to be located.
At the distribution hub, a large unregistered station in open space, we found that the facility’s staff had suffered an outbreak of the disease. Reyga away teams beamed over and provided treatment until the arrival of a hospital ship to provide definitive care.
The Oubbard figurine was located and taken aboard Reyga, in isolation, for further study, in the hopes of synthesizing a cure for Lieutenant Kholoi and any others for which existing treatments are ineffective.
We also identified several civilian freighters which may have been exposed to the disease through contact with the distribution center.
RECOMMENDATION No additional action necessary at this time. Federation civilian authorities, both medical and workplace safety, have been notified to follow-up at the distribution center. Reyga will attempt to contact potentially exposed freighters and assess.
