OOOOOH LOOOOOOK, ANOTHER COSTUME POST. WHAT A SURPRISE.
No but, as with all my posts here, this is just for me more than anything so that I have some form of visual representation of what's in my head. Today has been driving me mad, because I have all these ideas in my head around how certain costumes look, and what Coby likes to wear in his down time - however due to the game being silly, it's vast amount of customization can also be so limiting at times.
I just wanted to post these pictures here, I know 99% of you don't give a monkey! But for the 1% that like that little extra bit of sauce, around Risa if you see Coby in the obvious "base" costume of the following, then in the actual... universe... he's wearing the modifications I've mocked up below. There's not even much of a difference, but as I say all the time, it's mostly just my OCD wanting it to be so much closer to what's in my head than is able to be achieved in game.
ORIGINAL CONVERSE ALL STAR IMAGE NABBED FROM THEOFFICE.CO.UK PROMOTIONAL SHOT
This is a micro dump of a bunch of clips I'd recorded and intend to make a short film out of, buuuuut with both time not on my side when I started the project last year and then coupled with almost alllll~ of the footage and frame/screenshots corrupted, (Thanks, Vegas), I figured I'd just shelve all these and when inspiration strikes me again I'll start with a whole new project! These are here mostly just for posterity as the way you render demorecord is screenshots, frame-by-frame. Annnnd... I have a lot on my PC I could do with deleting. If you do fancy wasting 120 seconds of your life, the clips should at least be in 1080p >_> All obvious non-profit.
Unrelated Clip! Ominous~ ((Credits: Star Trek Online/CBS/Cryptic Studios - Edith Piaf's : Non, Je ne regrette rien))
Quick (and abrupt final) Render ((Credits: Star Trek Online/CBS/Cryptic Studios - Paul Simon's : Obvious Child - MSD Design by unknown artist, modified by me))
Trying something experimental. Working out so much yet, text is a little borked on the enjin-view, along with some unfinished assets but got a few ideas where I would like to take it!
Font is still unclear when resized, but that's a job I'll work on when I decide what I actually want to start doing with these >_> I dunno', I've always wanted to do a comic of sorts, like with a blur of OOC and IC where artistic license takes hold. I'm not even sure these come out any good to bother continuing, but the first three I've done so far have each used a slightly different technique. So will take a few more to get an idea on what I want to use, and how to do it. If anything they keep me busy
As a bit of a lurk master, over the past 5/6 years I have so many random logs of just general RP between all of you (sorry I'm a hoarder) and would love to get a general collection going, if none of you had any objections to me posting anything here?
Taken from an RP earlier today, wanted to try revisiting hands after like three years. This was just a super-quick one, in comparison. Just a general body study on a number of images I'd collected.
Nothing major, this is mostly just a dump so I know I've got 'et stored for quick viewing if I need to! I'm lazy like that.
I've been working recently on ... so... so many projects, first was making sure the U.S.S. October's records page and Info sheet had up to date information on the crew roster, shuttles, and other info that other players might find interesting. I've working on several new 'comics' and related art, but having stopped and started a bunch of different ones, I'm slowly focusing on a single one until it's finished off. Getting there!
Working on some further info graphs and a history slide, so came up with what's for the moment non-canon, but! Without any further fancy overlays just yet.
I wanted to have a refit-style ship, but not a Constitution so having already made a Ranger class I figured I'd have a hand at throwing a low-budget kitbash together just for the lol's.
Spoiler: Had a quick go at kitbashing a Ranger Class RefitShow
I also made some more patches, I made these legit ages ago just testing some things, but just wanted to plonk them here as I realised I hadn't! (Don't worry Sam, not expecting you to use them ahah! <3)
A number of the pieces below are a repost - feel free to ignore, original posts of said pieces have simply been removed
For a while now I've enjoyed making ship patches. They're often super simple, and not exactly as well detailed as ThomasTheCat's or our very own hero's Kermit and Keelah - but I really enjoy making them, and the idea of everyone being able to use a personalised assignment patch always makes my OCD feel so good (just so I can continue to use October's without feeling it's WAY OUT OF PLACE). For the more detailed patches I tend to work in Illustrator, just to allow the downscale retain quality, but for quick and easier designs, I just pump them out in the easier-to-use (for me) Photoshop. Font's are something I always struggle with, positioning/scale, reformat, downsizing- but I'm trying to work on these and get the refinements right.
I thought I'd just make a quick master post, for all of my patches, save having to SUPER SPAM you all like I always accidentally end up doing. This thread has appeared a few times over the past week alone and hate the idea of taking up the latest thread slots.
Below is a fluid, updating chart of links for my patches. As I'm always going back and tinkering (especially fonts), these at some stage or another should be as best as I can make 'em. I appreciate the confidence and allowance of you guys that have let me tackle your patches!
If anyone would like something like these, while Iām more than happy to give something a go, please be aware these are made in my limited free time from running a pub, and I make no promise nor guarantee Iāll be able to get around to whip anything up, but donāt be afraid to ask if I happen to be around.
Update ((28.02.23)):
Update ((12/08/22 - 08/12/22)):
Quick and easy brain exercise I did this morning, realised Iād never made an avenger patch before, and chose the Sun Tzu as my base, had some more elaborate ideas but ran out of time before work!
Update ((28.12.20)):
Thankyou to Brex, who came up with this idea and as soon as I saw it I had to steal it. Thankyou for the journey yesterday, really enjoyed bouncing back off of eachother and seeing different versions of the same concept. Really love how yours turned out in the end, the colours especially. Just posting mine here for posterity.
I got bored today, and whilst staring at an old patch I made a while ago I started just making some little simplified birds-eye ships, and then got carried away. Theyāre not much use to anyone, as the lore-friendly silhouettes that the game UIās/Mapās use are pretty cool and better fitting, but I thought for posterity Iād post and share my progress so far here.
Iām basically making my way through the fleet with some other ships here and there purely for my own digital micromachine collection. Image is hosted on imgur so for a closer look, open the image in a new tab if for some reason you fancy! Thanks for checking out the post, much love.
@Maikull showed me their awesome collection, which made me finish off the current roster of the war games event currently active. PSD File Here just in case anyone wanted it, excuse the awful folder management. Itās rough around the edges but does the job.
There were a few of us talking and it seems weāre on very similar pages, so wanted to take a stab and show what my visual plans were.
Currently writing an AAR, heavily based from Maikullās great post(would love to see more like that!), I wanted to drop the links here for my own posterity and ease when I come to adding the images. If anything, I really enjoyed having the wargames inspiration and it really rekindled my love for playing micromachines.
From an observer, it seems like it was a great event and success, Iām certainly going to make time for the next use of the framework and take an active part! Canāt wait.
