Expansion 2: Delta Rising.

Was I the only one who saw Moya in that trailer? You're drunk, leviathan, go home!

One of the new fed ships looks a lil' ugly, yeah, but at least there's evidence that they're not entirely abandoning the cool 25th era whiteish and black designs they had going on.
T5 Upgrades
More VO's incoming

32 years later and someone hasn't decided to wear something else :p

Also new something that isn't an STF but something!
All the shots I took of the BEAUTIFUL Intrepid Interior. It's not open as a ship interior yet, but it is part of one of the missions they've got up.
From what I have read, and this could be wrong/change but lobi/lockbox/holiday ships will be upgraded for free... which makes so much sense since there are only like 1 or 2 actual faction ships :/

Top of the line ships we have now can be upgraded for RL money only and the upgrade will grant you the following: 1 extra console a lot. That is all. T6 ships will have more consoles and more BO slots and more hull points.

So far there is only 1 of those T6 ships that even looks like it actually belongs in starfleet.
I am glad cryptic announced what would be in the Delta Rising pack. I figured it'd be the same as the LoR pack and figured I'd have to spend another $125 but after seeing what it offers I can rest easy knowing I will not be spending 1 penny on this expansion.

Though they have pointed out that, while those are the default skins, there are customization options and that all other material types are available.
Unless they offer a cheaper alternative to the $125 pack, I'm passing too.

I don't need seven or eight ships, most of which I'll never use. The Rom and KDF ships, possibly, Fed ships I'd pass on.
I do like the boffs and doffs they offer with the pack though but considering my soon to be T5U ship won't be able to slot the Intel consoles or Inte Boffs, I suppose having a free purple intell boff won't help much on my Fed characters.
This is one of the rare times I am really disappointed in cryptic. Not only are the bulk of those fed ships completely hidious but no one wanted T6 ships, people just wanted a way to upgrade our existing ships. I'm not completely turned off that it costs zen to upgrade, I can deal with that. I am annoyed that there are now newer better higher level ships with more that are coming out and none are ships we have known and loved in Trek. I'm just really disappointed with their direction on this.

If they offer skins to the new T6 that will allow them to look and mostly function like ships we have then I might go for it.

I hope they have new warp cores that let you go warp 10 and the game is glitches and when doing so turns you and your BOs into large lazy lizards. Why not? Cryptic seems to be in favor of using all of VOY "greatest ideas"

Sounds like a great doff or foundry mission, revert your lizard crew back to normal.
But why wouldn't you want a lizard crew?!

Grapple gun
T6 ship lineup and stats
So far so good i guess, but... the fleet t6's along with the inevetable lockbox/lobi t6 ships will probably outclass all current ships, even they are upgraded.
I seriously hope im wrong here and that they balance everything around t5-U. Meaning the coming lockbox/lobi ships get t5-U stats and t6 fleet only gets a hull boost, no extra consoles.
... T6 are getting the Fleet upgrade as well? And ... soon after Delta Rising, at that? ... yeah, okay, I don't see how T5-U stand too much chance keeping with them. I mean obviously they will still be usable, I mean it wont be too hard to play. And I'm hoping that in all the current STF's on holodeck right now, wont really see too much of a difference. But... seriously, C-Store ships (Or rather, the bundle ships which are fleet level anyway - along with actual fleet ships) should totally get a free upgrade. Because really, if you're super lucky... a lockbox ship could just cost you one single key, right? Whereas the bundles and ships themselves are 5000 and 2500 with no room for lower cost 'cept on sales.

From the stats... nothing looks super omgop. I'll be super sad if even with the upgrade I can't get my whale to base 49K hull like the T6 cruiser. But I'mg guessing I should be able to.

Super mixed feelings... but I'm not overly concerned anymore, just a little annoyed.

- after trying it on Tribble, I didn't... see all that much of a difference. My science whale got a nice little extra engineering console... along with the whole starship traits slots, meh.

... would probably see more of a difference if i could be bothered to make the grind to level 51.
Well, i know my Bulwark will recieve a nice upgrade. More info Here.
Sure the list isn't complete yet, but it shows the various ship class level traits so if your ship doens't have any abilities listed you can guess what it will get by looking at another cruiser/Escort/sci/whatnot.
They will release skins for the T6 ships that allow them to look like actual Federation, Republic, and Imperial ships. The Devs will do this when the T6 ships go belly up in the sales real quick. There are always people who will buy new ships because some are collectors, others just don't care that they don't look Trek-like, and others just play this game casually and just don't have an opinion. But there are a lot more people who are angry at the fact that many of us paid real money for, what we thought were, top level end game ships and now they aren't. I get the feeling, just from reading the forums (which aren't always the best place to get info from the players) that a very large majority of people are unhappy with the T6 designs and upset our T5 ships will not be able to match them.
Myself i payed a small fortune in the pursuit of the organic ship concept. Having that nuked in favor of getting one of what, 6, ships to stay in the top tier is not something I'm looking forward to. At least the upcoming lockbox/event (specifically the Benthan cruise) ships have the organic shape, but everyone and their dog will probably be flying it if it has t6 fleet/lockbox level stats.

As for how much money this will bring cryptic i kinda expect the t6 ships to sell like mad and the inevetable t6 lockbox ships will also sell mad numbers. Either that or the game goes very empty after it goes live, but that is unlikely.

Of course all of this is assuming that the t6 lockbox ships will actually be better than t5-U. If they aren't and there is some balance then at least i don't see a problem with t6.
If Cryptic has any sense (and let's be honest, that's up in the air) then T5-U is the new standard and T6, for now at least, will just be an intelligence centered upgrade. Maybe when they get more BOFF specialization worked out we'll see more proper T6 upgrade options.

...Or they're just scrapping the current endgame, but I can't imagine Cryptic is that dense, right?
...Right, guys? o_o'
WAIT.

WE GET A GRAPPLE GUN?! HECK YES.
