CAPT Mirazuni, A.
LOCATION Deep Space, Beta-6740 Sector
MISSION Responding to a call for assistance from the U.S.S. Attar.
OUTCOME Non-Federation humans rescued from an attack by an unknown entity called the “Ashuri”.
KEY PERSONNEL
- CAPT Leysak, W.
- CAPT Mirazuni, A.
- CAPT Timoreev, A.
BACKGROUND Upon the U.S.S. Attar, Captain Timoreev informed us that he was tracking a lost deep space probe (previously deployed as part of Operation Signal Capture). However, due to his ship’s inferior sensor suite, they were unable to detect a subspace anomaly which caused him to shut down his engines until they were able to be restarted safely. This meant that he was unable to continue tracking the probe, which he speculated had been taken by someone. With the U.S.S Endeavour as support, the U.S.S. Aspasia, carrying all three captains, was tasked with continuing the investigation.
NARRATIVE As we neared the location of the probe, the Endeavour remained back as support as the Aspasia entered the system. Upon arrival, we saw a star-shaped vessel, belonging to the Ashuri, and a smaller ship, later revealed to be the C.S.S. Warpalawas’ Dream. There was also wreckage from three other ships, with no lifeforms.
Ashuri Ship

CSS Warpalawas’ Dream

We were unable to convince either side to back down, with the crew of the Warpalawas’ Dream being too scared of the Ashuri to do so, and the Ashuri themselves not responding to any hails. I was unable to get a telepathic reading of the Ashuri, though this may have been due to the distance of the vessel.
With the Warpalawas’ Dream close to destruction, the Endeavour warped in to shield the Aspasia as she beamed the survivors of the ship onboard. The Endeavour was targeted by the Ashuri vessel and suffered shield and hull damage, but fortunately, there were no recorded hull breaches or fatalities.
After all the survivors were beamed aboard, we withdrew from the system. It is to be noted that, under advisement, neither the Endeavour nor the Aspasia discharged her weapons during this, maintaining neutrality throughout.
Questioning the Warpalawas’ Dream’s Captain Piyamaradu, we ascertained that these humans had not heard of the Federation, and that the Ashuri were the ancestral enemy of his people. Captain Lesyak wanted to begin First Contact procedures, but I advised that it would be more prudent to wait until the Captain recovered from the trauma.
RECOMMENDATION I recommend that Captain Piyamaradu be allowed to recover, and that the rescued crew be taken to their homeworld, where First Contact can be made with their government. Whilst I understand that there may be an intrinsic desire to find out how these humans arrived here, the physical and mental health of the survivors must be a priority, and questions can wait until meeting with their government.
RECOGNITION Captain Lesyak led this mission exceptionally, ensuring the preservation of life without the use of force, and took advice from his colleagues effectively. However, I would advise the Captain to make withdrawal decisions slightly quicker, especially if another ship is providing cover.
OOC This is the AAR for the Sons of Luwiya. Captain Piyamaradu is xenophobic. Ayesha was offended.
